Consultation Stage

Understanding your requirements

Whether you are building a new control room facility, refurbishing an existing or relocating somewhere new, we can assist with the process and the supply of the new furniture. With our understanding of BS11064, the guidelines for the build of control centres, we can also assist with the room layout and design.

For local projects we are available to visit site and review the existing space and any potential new locations. We are just as familiar with working from architectural plans or much less complicated drawings! We work with you to understand the operational requirements of the room, while also considering your wider business objectives. Longer term plans should also be considered.

Our sales team will gather the key criteria for the room, the space available, the number of people and the equipment to be allowed for. Individual desk designs are worked upon as well as the layout of the room. Our objective is to improve the working environment for the operators. Creating an ergonomically better workspace, as well as a more operational and aesthetically pleasing place to work.

Design Stage

Our Proposal

The Thinking Space design service is typically free of charge and available across all markets for consultants, integrators and end users alike. Our in-house design team uses 3D CAD modelling software to create the control rooms and the furniture within.

Technical drawings are provided demonstrating the structural build of the furniture and recommended ergonomic solutions for the equipment mounting. These drawings provide critical dimensions of the room and the furniture within it. Sectional views of operator eyelines and viewing angles are provided to demonstrate conformance to ergonomic standards. All drawings consider the guidelines within BS11064 ergonomic design of control rooms.

Rendered drawings are also provided to demonstrate how the completed solution could look. The renders create realistic visuals of the proposed solution and help demonstrate some of the finer details of the design, such as lighting features and the control room chairs.

Manufacturing Stage

We currently manufacture all furniture from our UK headquarters. We use a highly skilled workforce who are experienced in furniture assembly and installation.

All Thinking Space furniture is custom built. Designed and manufactured to meet the demands and requirements of your site. To ensure that the furniture is assembled correctly, all builds are fully completed within the factory for inspection prior to delivery. This FAT stage provides the opportunity for clients to visit and review the furniture first hand.

The factory build procedure simplifies the on site installation process, reducing the time as the furniture is simply re-assembled on site. Any unexpected issues are addressed in the factory rather than during key downtime at the client premises.

Fulfillment

We provide worldwide delivery and installation of your furniture. All furniture is easy to install should you wish to do so, with handy tutorial videos also available. We also offer an installation service using a team of experienced personnel. All of whom are familiar with working in typical control room environments. We also ensure your furniture is delivered on time and to your satisfaction, every time!
